A simulation of a ripple tank, or wave tank. Make waves with your finger, or view examples including such wave phenomena as interference, diffraction (single slit, double slit, etc.), refraction, resonance, and the Doppler effect.
There is also a full version of this app, called "Ripple Tank", which allows you to create your own experiments, save and load, and change colors. It is also optimized for iPad.

Some bad moments
Dude this app is awesome its amazing how much you can learn simply by observation!
Such a simple concept, but it has the power to illustrate an enormous number of optical and acoustic phenomena. This app can generate beautiful pictures of interference, diffraction, refraction, resonance and much more. Plus, the ability to interactively play with the waves makes it fun!

As an upgrade, maybe editable prisms?
This type of tool would have been great for undergrad physics.
Wish there were more apps like it. Its like a poor man FDTD software :)
